Head of School's Message

At Heath Lane Nursery, inclusion is at the heart of everything we do. We believe that every child is unique, with their own talents, abilities, and perspectives, and we are committed to creating an environment where everyone feels safe, respected, and confident.

Our nursery is a place where differences are celebrated, and diversity enriches the experiences of all children and families. Whether it’s cultural heritage, language, abilities, or individual special educational needs, we strive to ensure that every child has the opportunity to learn, grow, and thrive in a welcoming and inclusive setting.

Inclusion is not just a policy—it is a mindset. We are proud of our team’s dedication to tailoring learning experiences that meet the needs of all children, ensuring that every child feels a true sense of belonging. Through open communication with families and collaboration with external specialists, we work to provide the best possible outcomes for all.

Thank you for partnering with us to make Heath Lane Nursery a place where everyone feels welcome and valued. In my dual role as Head of School and Inclusion Leader for Roots Federation, please don’t hesitate to reach out to me if you have questions about your child’s needs and support available.

Learning At Home

For the past two weeks the children have been exploring measuring length.

You can support their learning by investigating the length of different sized socks at home.

Can they measure the socks ? Ask your child to order the socks from shortest to longest.

Success Story of the Week!

This week the children got to experience a Drumming Workshop.  It was lovely to see the children so engaged and participating with great enthusiasm and enjoyment.  They had to practise keeping a rhythm, tapping out four beats using drumsticks and also stamping their feet to the beat.  They explored how music can be linked to different emotions and how it makes them feel.  Ask your child what they enjoyed most about the workshop.
